The Distillerie du Peyrat has distilled Cognac for several decades but the family has been present in the Charente "eau-de-vie” business for much longer (an ancestor “marchand brûleur” was mentioned in old family archives dating back to 1705).

After having distilled Cognac for bigger, well known brands, I decided to produce and market my own Cognac with a rather novel specialisation in the area : the production of Organic Cognac.

This method of production has the advantage of respecting nature in and around our vineyards and guarantees an enhanced expression of rural flavour.

The Distillerie du Peyrat’s signature has always been the production of “fine”, “subtle” and “delicate” Cognacs (rather than heavy alcohols); it continues along these lines by chosing specific soil areas; by carefully selecting its wines and by adopting distilling methods appropriate for these purpose. Of course, all the Cognacs of Le Peyrat are distilled by us in our own distillery.
